Dirty Lake Superior Circle Tour - Planning Begins

I'm starting work on a route around Lake Superior to tie into the Central Adventure Rider Rally (CADVR). We have a lot of dual sport opportunities, single track, and even sporty pavement to ride. While we usually do an overnight run somewhere, we haven't had as many tracks that feel like truly traveling.

This is intended to be big bike friendly with some fast and twisty gravel. This should be a good opportunities for those who haven't gone on a longer adventure. There may be some areas that get tricky if it's been wet but it shouldn't be technical. Keeping to the shoreline for the lovely stretch from Nipigon to Wawa but dipping into the interior often to find remote forest roads.

I've ridden most all of the Wisconsin and Michigan tracks but the Minnesota and Canada sections of dirt are new to me. I may have made some mistakes in the route and this first run of it will probably lead to tweaking of the route.

The plan is to start on Saturday morning July 25 2025 and finish up back at the Rally for Thursday night to hang out and swap stories around the fire with everyone.

I'll plot out both hotel and camp options. Hotel might be pretty expensive during prime summer. The only time I ran the circle tour was early October and there wasn't much competition for places to stay then.
