TWT Update 4/14

Trans Wisconsin Adventure Trail open invite run May 23 - 26.

Here’s a recap of the planning and some new developments. I plan to camp at Palace Campground in Galena Thursday 5/22.

The next morning, 5/23 we will be meeting at the start point south of Hazel Green at 8am, 290ish miles to the Neillsville area.

Day two, 5/24, will be 210 miles or so, landing north of Drummond at Perch Lake. There will be more opportunities to check out ATV trails this day. I’ve reserved a site for two nights.

Day three, 5/25, I plan to leave luggage at camp, hit the Delta Diner early and hit Lake Superior mid-day and start on the return track, making it back for the second night at Perch Lake. 160 -170 miles.

Day four, 5/26, heading toward Cable for some fire roads and what might be mellower ATV tracks. I can’t remember if they are the ones I rode a few years ago, I was following someone else and not paying attention too much to where I was. Around Chippewa Falls, the route will settle into a road route heading toward Madison. Peel off and head home whenever it makes sense to you. About 375 miles to Madison.

We do have a contingent that will be staying in hotels and some that will be joining us mid trip.

We are using WhatsApp to coordinate, send me a message for the invite link.

I’ve modified the track a little from Chad’s original TWAT gps track. I’m hoping it makes navigation and coordination easier.

I will be putting out an updated track for day one due to construction on large portions of 131. There’s always surprises, keep loose and it’ll work out fine.

Feel like you misses something? Need the tracks? I post everything here:
