We’ve nailed down details that I haven’t posted up here yet. Camping locations have been sorted.

First night will be on private property on the edge of Humbird, WI. Distance for the day about 280 miles. No services here, it’s a patch of grass next to an overflow pond in between fields. Town is less than five minutes away.

Second and third night will be Perch Lake Campground, 5 miles north of Drummond, WI. We’ll leave camp set up and run light to Point Detour and back. Day two distance will be approx 200 miles and day three around 180 miles. We have three sites reserved and that should cover our needs. There are a few FCFS sites we might be able to grab if we have a big turnout. Vault toilets and drinking water available, no other services.

There are no showers available in this plan. The lakes will probably be too cold for any but the bravest to take a dip. Most established campgrounds will allow people to pay a nominal fee for a shower. If someone absolutely needs one, we can sort something out. Maybe some of the non-camping members of our group will be generous with their showers. I plan to pack body wipes.

The plan for the fourth day is to head towards Cable to ride some epic fire roads and explore some ATV tracks while meandering towards Chippewa Falls. Riders will peel off wherever it makes sense for them.

It’s just starting to pop up on the extended forecast and the weather is looking good. A little rain Tuesday and Wednesday to hopefully keep the dust down. Highs in the mid 70s, overnight lows in the mid 40s.
